In November 2012, officials at the NCRC announced the construction of ready-to-go laboratory space in the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building. Four months later, the 1,500-square-foot space is fully leased.
A second ready-to-go laboratory is in the planning stages. Just like the first flexible lab space, there will be enough room to accommodate one to three companies. Each tenant will have administrative areas, bench tops, fume hoods, sinks and storage. The space is well-suited for start-up companies or satellite laboratory operations.
The ready-to-go lab is located in the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building and provides direct access to the David H. Murdock Research Institute and the UNC Charlotte Bioinformatics Services Division as well as collaborative opportunities with corporate and academic partners on campus.
The core laboratory building also has shell space designed for build-to-suit class A laboratory and office space available.
