Kannapolis, N.C. – Cabarrus Health Alliance unveiled a new name for their pediatric clinic on Monday evening, Dr. Linny M. Baker Pediatric Clinic. Dr. Baker retired from Cabarrus Health Alliance in February after a decade of service. Previously, Dr. Baker worked in private practice in Cabarrus County.

Dr. William Pilkington, CEO and Public Health Director, and Dr. Russell Suda, Medical Director, both spoke at the reception.

“It has been an honor to work alongside Linny for so many years. You don’t talk to any medical professional in Cabarrus County who doesn’t know Dr. Baker. He upholds the highest level of quality care and we have been fortunate to have him in this community. I’ll miss working with him at CHA, but look forward to hearing of his travels,” shared Suda.

“Dr. Baker has been a lot of things to CHA. He has been our board chair, medical director, and pediatrician. He’s the reason why we have a public health pediatric practice in Cabarrus County,” said Pilkington. “We felt like this was the least we could do to honor Dr. Baker. Every patient and guest that comes through those doors will see his name for decades to come,” he continued.

Baker was surrounded by family, colleagues, and community leaders as the clinic name was presented to him.
