MONTEREY, Calif. – Dole Fresh Vegetables is an inaugural partner of a new initiative, Good Housekeeping “Nutritionist Approved” Emblem and first-of-its-kind incubator program for food brands, designed to help consumers simplify the process of making better food choices.
A total of 27 separate organic and conventional DOLE Salad products qualified for the stringent new Emblem – the most of any partner brand.
Since 1909, the Good Housekeeping Seal has served as a symbol of assurance and reliability to consumers. The new GH Nutritionist Approved (GHNA) Emblem, announced earlier this month, brings the GH Institute’s “Tried and Tested” authority into the food space.
Created by Good Housekeeping Nutrition Director and Registered Dietitian (RD) Jackie London, the GHNA Emblem not only helps consumers make informed food choices that inspire healthier eating habits but also works directly with companies on brand messaging and product development. The Incubator, located at the GH Institute in the Hearst Tower in NYC, evaluates developing and existing products for Emblem consideration. To qualify, brands and products go through a rigorous evaluation process and must align with the GHNA core values of simplicity, transparency and innovation.
“Good Housekeeping and Dole share a similar vision of helping the world make better food choices to live a healthier life,” said Dole Fresh Vegetables VP of Marketing Carrie Ann Arias. “We’re honored to be an inaugural partner in the Nutritionist Approved program, and see it as validating our century-long commitment to freshness, quality and nutrition. It also perfectly complements the groundbreaking research, recipe-development and other fruit and vegetable work being done at our own Dole Nutrition Institute.”
Arias said Dole will use the GHNA Emblem in marketing and in-store materials, in media and influencer communications, on Dole’s digital and social media platforms, and on-pack on certain DOLE Salad products including all six mixes in the newly expanded DOLE® Organic Salad line, which arrives at stores nationwide in November.
