Campus Associations


The NC Research Campus is a growing community of  scientists and support staff from diverse backgrounds and scientific disciplines. They connect and support one another by participating in:

Administrative Forum 
The Administrative Forum on the third Tuesday of each month from 12 pm to 1 pm at local restaurants. The Administrative Forum is for those who work at the NC Research Campus and in surrounding areas. Their goal is to support administrative professionals, increase understanding of the NC Research Campus and answer questions about the campus and the community.

Cabarrus Chinese American Association
Chinese researchers at the NCRC have formed an organization to share their culture throughout Cabarrus County and the surrounding area. CCAA meets regularly, hosts a Chinese New Year festival and operates a Chinese Language and Arts School.

Catalyst fosters personal and professional relationships between researchers at the NCRC. The group, founded by scientists at the UNC Chapel Hill Nutrition Research Institute, hosts activities like career development and transferable skills workshops as well as an annual research symposium.

Genomic Sciences Regional Exchange Group (GeneREG)
GeneREG seminars are held monthly September through May with the goal of bringing together scientists from the Charlotte region to discuss scientific ideas, new directions and data analysis techniques involving a wide range of genomic technologies and organisms. Each seminar is  held in the core laboratory building events room at 150 Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis. Lunch is served at noon with the presentation following.

NCRC Communicators
The NCRC Communicators are public relations and marketing professionals with campus partners and affiliated community organizations who meet on the third Wednesday of most months for lunch, information sharing and training opportunities.

North Carolina Research Campus Faculty Association
The NCRC Faculty Association formed to provide opportunities for researchers to socialize and network,share their research progress and promote activities that benefit everyone working at the NCRC.
