The NC Research Campus announced JC Med, LLC and DataChambers joined the NC Research Campus as the newest partners.
JC Med Opens for Business in Ready-To-Go Lab
The equipment is installed, the supplies have arrived and Wenhong Cao, MD, founder of JC Med, LLC, is open for business in the first ready-to-go laboratory suite at the NC Research Campus.
Cao, who is also a research associate professor in nutrition with the UNC Chapel Hill Nutrition Research Institute at the NC Research Campus, leased a third of the first ready-to-go laboratory suite on the third floor of the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory building. Two additional suites are under construction and leasing.
He is ramping up to produce a dietary supplement and a first-of-its-kind home test both of which are aimed at preventing insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes and other diseases.
“For me, it is very convenient. I do my research in one building, and the company is in other building with the core lab facilities,” Cao said. “It is very useful because we have to do some product tests. I’m able to collaborate, and pay for the services I need. I can get everything done conveniently right on campus.”
DataChambers Regional Center Breaks Ground
On November 19, 150 business and community leaders from Cabarrus County and throughout the Charlotte region braved cold and windy weather to attend a groundbreaking ceremony to welcome DataChambers to the NC Research Campus.
“In partnership with Mr. Murdock and Castle & Cooke, Inc., we will be building one of the largest, most state-of-the-art, third-party data centers in the region. It will be unmatched,” said DataChamabers CEO Nicholas L. Kottyan.
DataChambers is a North State communications company specializing in information technology services.
